We describe in detail the relationship between different standards and how our custom-built equipment benchmarked against industry-certified medical masks and respirator, could be used to evaluate candidate mask materials for their filtration performance. With its ability to perform rapid testing and with different system variables where appropriate, our equipment offers a versatile and a low-cost test design for comparing the baseline results on mask materials from different labs.
